Iran will be the country to watch in 2011. Convictions that will lead to future action are building up. There is little doubt that the process of peace in the Middle-East will be one of the major brakes to a hardening of positions towards the country which is showing such stubbornness about obtaining nuclear arms – and there is little doubt about Iran’s intentions. In December the film directors Jafar Panahi and Mohammad Rasoulof, were sentenced to six years in prison, with the charge of preparing “a film against the regime, bearing on the post-electoral events”. Panahi and Rasoulof were imprisoned and hit hard by being banned from “making films, writing scripts, traveling abroad or giving interviews to local or for- eign media for twenty years”. ?
