Jimmy Wales is an Internet entrepreneur and founder of Wikipedia, an online, free-content encyclopaedia that has grown into the fifth most visited website globally. Wales established the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation in 2003 to support Wikipedia and its sister projects, and the organization was recently selected as the number one NGO in the world by The Global Journal. He recently spoke to us about the role of non-profits, Wikipedia’s impact on development and the politics of information in the Internet age.
