A one-year Presidency can look short to many politicians, not to mention a Presidency within the UN system, known to be slow. To President Joseph Deiss it might not look so short. Like many of his fellow Swiss politician country women and men, he knows about the Swiss touch which is to be at the head of public mandate for such short terms. That might be why he is not uncomfortable with his Presidency.
