Kati Suominen served as a trade economist at the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, DC where she managed the bank’s global and Asia-Pacific trade and economic policy research, and coordinated initiatives with other international institutions, such as the World Trade Organization. From 2007 to 2009, Suominen also served as advisor to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) senior officials. She was selected as a Next Generation Fellow by the American Assembly in 2010. Her latest book is forthcoming from Stanford University Press in May, Peerless and Periled: The Paradox of American Leadership in the World Economic Order.
