Born in southern India but having lived most of her life in Canada, Raksha graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2009. After working in management consulting for a year, she decided to pursue her Master's in Development Studies at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland, which she is currently completing. Her academic interests focus on South Asia and include the role of faith-based organizations and new media in humanitarian crises, as well as the evolving relations between gender and food security.
